Jeffrey Meeks, Worship (Encounter)

Jeffrey Jeffrey Meeks has served at University Place Presbyterian Church as Minister of Worship Ministries from November, 2001, to the present where he serves with pastors and other ministry leaders in the design and implementation of worship services and the fulfillment of the church's mission. At UPPC, he also directs the 85 voice Sanctuary Choir, the Chancel Brass, the Orchestral Ensemble and oversees/directs the Children's Music Program (Jammin'@UPPC), Praise Bands and bell choirs. He brings 15 years of full-time music ministry experience from small to mid-sized to large church congregations and recognized his calling to serve the Lord through music at an early age. He has served in such large churches as The College Hill Presbyterian Church at Cincinnati, where he held the position of Associate Director of Worship and Music, and The Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Springfield, Ohio, where he held the position of Minister of Worship and Music while overseeing a total church relocation, sanctuary and organ design. He has also served smaller, yet historic congregations such as the First Presbyterian Church at Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Jeffrey holds an undergraduate and two graduate degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he served as a Graduate Assistant Professor in Secondary Piano and as a Graduate Assistant Professor in Vocal Coaching, Chamber Music Accompanying and Opera Coaching. He maintained a full-tuition academic scholarship and received annual stipends through scholarship competition winnings from the University of Cincinnati for all nine years of his education. He is currently finishing his coursework for the Doctorate of Ministry in Worship Studies from the Institute for Worship Studies, Florida Campus.

Jeffrey, his wife Marcela (also, a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music), their son, Gordon and their collie, Aladdin now reside in Steilacoom, WA.
