Praise Bands

Our praise band ministry has been leading the music of contemporary worship for over two decades and in recent years has expanded to include leadership for congregational singing at the 11:00 a.m. service. Singers and players are experienced and are expected to be highly committed to a life of service and discipleship at UPPC. Interested singers and players may contact Jeffrey Meeks, Minister Worship.

Chancel Brass

The Chancel Brass rehearses weekly. This dynamic worship leadership force presents and supports music for worship once a month. The Chancel Brass can be heard playing music of the seasons throughout the UPPC campus as well as throughout the community. The Chancel Brass enjoys a large repertoire of music ranging from the renaissance composers to the music of “Dixie Land.” The Chancel Brass is directed by Jeffrey Meeks, Minister of Worship. Interested players are encouraged to contact Mr. Meeks and attend rehearsals to determine parts and level of proficiency.

Chancel Bells

The Chancel Bells rehearse weekly. We present music for worship once a month. The Chancel Bells are directed by Melody Chen, Associate Minister of Music. Interested players are encouraged to contact Dr. Chen.

Choirs

The For all those who have felt drawn to service in music ministry, but have not been able to serve due to scheduling conflicts or the lack of childcare, choir is now an option. As an alternative to our traditionally scheduled Thursday evening rehearsal, prayer and worship, we offer Sanctuary Choir on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m., until 7:15 p.m. Parents with students attending Wildside or Quest may look at joining choir as an opportunity to grow spiritually alongside their child. You may want to stop in on your way home from work or on your way to an evening meeting.

If Tuesday does not fit into your week, our traditional Thursday rehearsal schedule is always available for you at 7:00 p.m. Whatever your situation, take advantage of this added opportunity to offer your gifts of worship and increase your abilities to praise Him and magnify His Holy Name. We know that you will find great joy and satisfaction in being a member of the Sanctuary Choir family.

The Men’s Ensemble

The Men’s Ensemble is now enjoying its third year in ministry. Men meet for coffee and doughnuts on Saturday mornings, pray and praise. A focus on the excellence of communicating God’s transforming love through the use of proper vocal techniques and a strong commitment to the text is emphasized. The ensemble’s repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary. The Men’s Ensemble is directed by Irv Martin.

Sound and Lights

The Sound and Lights team is currently operating with four technicians, most of which were trained here at UPPC. The Sound and Lights team is responsible for operating the sound systems throughout the UPPC campus for services, weddings, memorials and other special functions as well as maintaining all sound related equipment. The team also produces all sound recordings of these events on compact disc formats. The team consists of Sean Benson and Josh Ricker. Devices for the hearing impaired are made available to worshipers each week and are accessible through the usher teams.

Strings

String players grace our worship music monthly and participate as soloists and in small instrumental ensembles. The UPPC String Ensemble consists of experienced string players who teach and perform throughout the Puget Sound area and who are sometimes joined by their advanced high school students in concert and in worship. Efforts are being made to organize a weekly rehearsal.
