Did you know UPPC’s last comprehensive remodel was designed in 1983? That year Lionel Ritchie topped the charts, Michael Jackson introduced the “moonwalk,” and the first cellular phone was invented. For the past 30 years our facility has been able to serve the needs of our church and greater community. In order to continue meeting the needs of our community, we need to update and rejuvenate our facilities.
A team of UPPC members is working to discover how best to update our facilities. In addition to looking at visible defects, the team has been working with staff and members to determine what changes would best serve our ministry needs - whether it means moving walls or a fresh paint job. In February, we sought information from members on what updates you’d like to see in the UPPC facilities. We have hosted focus groups to learn even more about specific needs, and will be seeking more congregational feedback this fall.
The Refresh team is currently working with architects and a general contractor. These partners will help us determine various ways to best meet the needs within our facility, as well as determine costs of the updates.
We look forward to with you on this exciting next phase for our church. Be sure to check back here for updates as we move through the process.
