    Class Description:

    1. Two’s Class – Must be 2 on or before August 31, 2014

In their first experience in a structured preschool environment your child will learn socialization skills and simple routines while they participate in art, music, stories, and explore an enriched environment.  Class size is limited to 12 children with a teacher and assistant teacher.

    2. Three’s Class – Must be 3 on or before August 31, 2014
Children in this class continue to develop social skills as they explore an increasingly complex, carefully planned environment. Creative art, music, science, mathematical thinking skills, language development and Christian concepts are some of the areas explained through a combination of teacher-directed and free-choice activities. Classes also participate in two to three field trips each year. Class is limited to 14 children with a teacher and assistant teacher.

    3. Four’s Class – Must be 4 on or before August 31, 2014
This class is designed to prepare children for success in kindergarten by exposing them to an increasingly structured environment. An exploration of letter names and sounds, science experiments to hone observation skills, more complex mathematical concepts and opportunities to explore multi-step creative art projects are a few of the ways our four’s program expands to meet the needs of your child’s expanding abilities. Children also participate in a variety of field trips. Class is limited to 16 children with a teacher and assistant teacher.

    4. Pre-K Class – Must be 4 on or before April 30, 2014
This class is designed for the older four and the young five year old who is not quite ready for the rigors of kindergarten. The class incorporates many of the same activities as the four’s classes but proceeds at a faster pace allowing time to explore concepts more deeply. Structured periods are slightly longer and activities are geared to the more mature child. Class is limited to 18 children with a teacher and assistant teacher.

    5. Kindergarten – Must be 5 on or before August 31, 2014
This class is either half-day or all-day and provides a creative learning environment. Reading skills are a central focus. Mathematical concepts, writing skills, advanced listening and sequencing skills, motor skills and social and emotional skills are developed. Opportunities abound to explore science and to delve into the wonder of God’s creation. Creativity is encouraged through art and music. Children participate in a variety of field trips. Our goal is to create a positive but challenging experience in which each child can grow and develop at his or her own individual pace. Class size is limited to 20 children with a teacher and assistant teacher.

    6. Lunch Bunch – For the 3s, 4s & 5s Classes
Children bring their lunch and have time to play in the gym or on the playground.  Morning classes stay until 12:30 PM and afternoon classes and Enrichment come at 11:40 AM.  Advanced registration is required.

    Curriculum Overview
Design: Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and designed to stimulate children’s curiosity, nurture their love and knowledge of God and foster healthy relationships and self-esteem. Language development, art, music, stories, science exploration, field trips, outdoor/indoor play time and math skills are included in the curriculum in order to develop children to their fullest potential physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually.

    Active Play
Active play is an integral part of our daily schedule and each class goes either outside to the playground or to the indoor large muscle room.

    Bible Time Procedures & Expectations

Children worship together in their classrooms on the first Thursday or Friday of each month at the beginning of class. Christian values and concepts are encouraged throughout each day.

The children recite their Scripture memory verses and we pray together at various times throughout the day: snack, opening circle, etc., and other times that seem fitting.

    FOOD BANK

We believe that learning to share is important in all aspects of our lives so all throughout the year, we have food donation boxes by each classroom. Families are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items. Periodically, the students in our older classes sort and count the items (learning basic math skills) before they take them to the food bank at Families Unlimited Network (FUN), located in the house across the driveway of our playground. For more information go to: http://www.familiesunlimitednetwork.org/
